Trastevere is much more than just the perfect place to enjoy an Aperol Spritz at sunset. Its cobbled streets, full of life and charm, hide centuries of history. It was formerly a neighborhood of merchants, sailors and smugglers, which gave it a very different identity from the rest of Rome.
As you walk through its alleys you will find curious corners, such as the historic Antico Caffè del Moro, one of the oldest cafes in Rome. And if you continue walking uphill, you will find the Villa Sciarra, an oasis of tranquility where you can enjoy a beautiful walk among gardens, monuments and different views of the city.
Trastevere is one of those neighborhoods that is worth visiting, I recommend doing a freetour since each street has something to discover and obviously at the end of the whole tour it is mandatory to stop to rest and relax with an Aperol Spritz.
